HERB CHICKEN...
A novel way of having chicken in a jiffy.. but no compromise on taste and quality .
RECIPE:
Ingr:
Chicken drumsticks 4
Onions 3
Ginger 1/2"
Garlic 4 flakes
Green chillies 6
Basil leaves 1 bunch
Curry leaves 10 sprigs
Coriander leaves 1 bunch
Pepper powder 2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for searing
Method:
- Make a paste of all the above ingredients . Marinate the chicken pieces for 10 mts ( if there is time, for 1/2 an hr)
- Place the marinated pieces in a cooker as shown above. Put the leftover marinade on top.
- Cook on slow heat and allow for the 1st whistle. Remove.
- Heat oil in a pan and place the chicken on high flame to sear on both sides (5 mts each). When nicely browned, remove and serve.
- Herb variations and quantity of ingredients can be adjusted according to taste.
- Chicken gets cooked well in the cooker itself so don't overcook in the pan.
- No water to be used at any stage.
